2019 TERM 1 COURSE LIST

The Lismore Catholic Schools Office has developed an online tool (My Learning) to provide support for principals and teachers to manage NESA registered professional learning and other CSO approved learning courses. The My Learning portal will assist with compliance to NESA ensuring teachers will meet the requirements of 50 hours of NESA registered professional learning and 50 hours of Teacher Identified professional learning over a 5 year period.

To enroll in any or all of the credentialed courses listed below, register online at  http://mylearning.lism.catholic.edu.au/ An enrollment key and link to the course content will then be provided via email. There is no cost involved.

Badges for iPad - Apple Teacher Learning Center 2019. Term 3 Wks 8,9&10

This credentialed course will introduce you to the Apple Learning Centre iPad program that will get you started to becoming recognised as an Apple Teacher. By choosing three of the eight iPad interactive starter guides, you will earn recognition by passing the corresponding quizzes to earn badges. Participants will be expected to invest about eight hours of work over a three week period. Participants will provide evidence of their learning by producing their three Apple iPad badges and completing three competency based activities to demonstrate how these resource will impact on their use of iPads in their classroom.

Google Drawings - The Underutilised Google Suite Tool. Term 2. Wks 2&3. 2019

The Google Drawings credential short course is conducted over a two week period and is open to all staff and will provide eligible teachers with THREE hours of accreditation with NESA. Participants will explore Google Drawings  to develop essential skills involved in producing resources for teaching and learning. Participants will be expected to invest about four-six hours of work to complete a range of ‘hands on’ competency based activities and assignments to provide evidence of their learning.

Using Google Efficiently with Extensions and Add-ons. Term 3. Weeks 5 & 6. 2019

The Extensions and Add-ons short course is conducted over a two week period and is open to all staff - teaching and non-teaching. Participants will explore ways to use extensions within the Chrome browser and how Add-ons can be used to perform specific actions within G-suite tools. Participants will develop essential skills involved in using extensions and add-ons. Participants will be involved in curating a bank of extensions and add-ons used within our diocese to be used to influence others in their use. 
Participants will be expected to invest about four-six hours of work to complete a range of ‘hands-on’ competency-based activities and assignments to provide evidence of their learning.

 

ZOOM Into Conferencing. Term 1. Wks 6&7. 2019

The Zoom Video Conferencing credentialed short course is conducted over a two week period and is open to all staff and will provide eligible teachers with THREE hours of accreditation with NESA. Participants will explore the services available for Virtual Excursions, Tours, Exhibitions and Guest Speakers and develop an understanding of the use of Zoom as a means of connecting to these services directly from their classroom. Participants will be expected to invest about four-six hours of work to complete a range of ‘hands on’ competency based activities and assignments to provide evidence of their learning.
